Stanley kubrick

From the first time I saw Stanley kubrick's clockwork orange in high school, I fell in love with him. He controlled the rhythm of the film so well, no matter he was shooting a feature film, war film or fantasy film, the composition of the film was favorable, he gave consideration to both the aesthetics and the rich layers of emotion. To me, almost every one of his movies was a textbook grade, with a full useful reference for a lot of directors.

This retrospective exhibition of Stanley Kubrick in The Design Museum can be seen from his preparation in the early stage of film production, the drawing of the early manuscript and the selection of costumes, scenes, and props, to the editing in the later stage . It is very complicated, which enables me to know more about Stanley's attentiveness and delicacy in making films.

The exhibition tells the story of Stanley Kubrick the meticulous genius, exploring his unique command of the creative design process of film making, from storyteller to director to editor. We can see step by step how Kubrick created genre-defining worlds for his films and relive iconic scenes from The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, 2001: A Space Odyssey and more.
